Our 2019 challenge is called DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE. You can learn more about it on our robot profile.

Interested in Learning More or Joining?

We would love to have you on Team 100. Any Woodside student can join! If you would like to learn more, feel free to join our mailing list. We also have an FAQ below that may answer some of your questions about robotics.

You also can come to our lunch meeting on August 29 in J1 to learn more about being on Team 100.

Do I have to have experience in order to join Woodside Robotics?

Not at all! Many of our current team members came in with little to no experience. We will teach you everything you need to know in order to design, build, program, and wire robots.

Does robotics look good on college applications?

Yes! Many colleges around the world offer exclusive scholarships for people on robotics teams. Our graduating students last year got accepted to leading engineering universities around the United States.

You can also get scholarships through robotics, available exclusively for robotics participants. These include scholarships from leading schools such as MIT, Boston University, and Yale University as well as strong but smaller schools such as Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Olin College of Engineering. Highly respected international universities also offer scholarships exclusively for robotics students.

What are competitions like?

Competitions are amazing experiences. There are lots of teams from all over the world. They are a great time to meet friends and learn more about robotics. We have also been to the World Championships multiple times, and have sent team members to the Championships in Houston, Texas for the last two years!

What does the schedule look like?

Robotics can be a significant time commitment. However, we are fairly flexible when you need to be there. Our preseason schedule is still being determined, but you should expect to put in a good amount of time during our build and competition season.

Does this sound interesting to you?

If robotics sounds like something that you would like to do, please join our mailing list. There you can learn more about upcoming events.
