FAQ
Do I have to have experience in order to join Woodside Robotics?
Not at all! Many of our current team members came in with little to no experience. We will teach you everything you need to know in order to design, build, program, and wire robots.
What are competitions like?
Competitions are amazing experiences. There are lots of teams from all over the world. They are a great time to meet friends and learn more about robotics. We have also been to the World Championships multiple times.
What does the schedule look like?
Robotics can be a significant time commitment. However, we are fairly flexible when you need to be there. Our preseason schedule from August through December is:
Monday 3:40 pm - 6:00 pm
Wednesdays 2:35 pm - 6:00 pm
Saturdays 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Our competition season begins on the first Saturday in January and runs through approximately mid-April depending on competition event schedules. During this season the shop will be open every day after school including weekends. You do not need to be there every day but you should expect to put in a significant amount of time because there is a lot of work that needs to be done within a short amount of time.
